Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing- EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation  and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences.

‘It is widely assumed that severe emotional pain requires a long time to heal.  EMDR therapy shows that the mind can in fact heal from psychological trauma much as the body recovers from physical trauma.

‘Using the detailed protocols and procedures learned in EMDR therapy training sessions, clinicians help clients activate their natural healing processes.’

Intensive EMDR

‘Intensive EMDR therapy is a specialised form of psychotherapy designed to accelerate the healing process for individuals who have experienced traumatic events. Unlike traditional EMDR, which is typically conducted in weekly sessions over several months, intensive EMDR therapy involves multiple sessions over a shorter period, often within a few days or weeks.

This approach is ideal for clients who are looking for a faster resolution to their trauma-related symptoms. Those who have a clear understanding of their trauma and are ready to confront it head-on may find the intensive approach more effective. It allows for a deep dive into the traumatic memories and emotions, facilitating a more comprehensive processing and integration of the trauma.’
